Beautifully decorated, really comfortable and well-equipped, Glanyscir has a sitting-room with wood burner, dining-room, large kitchen (with Aga, additional cooker and kitchen table), and a utility room with downstairs loo on the ground floor. The kitchen gives out onto the sunny back garden which runs directly down to the river. A separate barn houses the huge games room with table football, an additional TV and a cupboard full of games and toys. On another side of the house is a large expanse of enclosed lawn – perfect for children to play on and let off steam, which leads onto meadows and some wonderful riverside walks. This is a lovely sunny spot with a terrace and garden furniture.

On the first floor are two beautiful romantic double bedrooms with extremely comfortable beds, a bathroom and a single bedroom (great as a nursery or nanny room); and the top floor has two pretty twin bedrooms and another bathroom.

Glanyscir is situated only 2 miles from the lovely town of Brecon, with its shops full of local produce, its monthly farmers’ market, excellent leisure centre, cinema, theatre, and one of the oldest and most beautiful cathedrals in Wales. Cardiff is an hour away, as is Hereford, and the famous ‘book town’ of Hay-on-Wye is only 15 minutes away. Fishing for trout, swimming in the river or enjoying barbecues on the bank can easily fill balmy summer days; but for the more sporty, Cradock Golf Course (with restaurant) is a good practise range with stunning views over the Brecon Beacons. Food lovers will enjoy the Felin Fach Griffin just outside Brecon, a gastro-pub with a wonderfully warm, friendly atmosphere and excellent cooking.

Changeovers are normally Mondays and Fridays (enquire about other days). Weekends are set-priced from Friday 4pm to either Sunday evening or Monday 10.30am; so you can stay 1, 2 or 3 nights for the weekend price.
