Lleine Price is the perfect seaside holiday cottage – warm, comfortable and cosy, and simply but stylishly furnished. The good-sized grassy garden (with trampoline, hammock and garden furniture) is completely enclosed, so that children and dogs can run around in safety. It is a short drive (2.5 miles) from the lovely sandy National Trust-owned Mwnt beach with its unspoilt adjoining coastline, as well as many other local attractions for entertaining families.

The cottage is snug enough for a couple, however, and makes the perfect base for walking the beautiful, dramatic coastal path. The decoration of this traditional west Wales cottage is pleasingly simple, with its metal bedsteads, patchwork quilts, Welsh blankets, antique photographs, and woodwork painted in well-chosen colours.

Downstairs, Lleine Price has a neat kitchen, a good-sized dining-room, a large sitting-room (which opens through glass doors onto the terrace and garden), a bathroom (with bath and shower over it, loo and hand basin), and a double bedroom. Upstairs, there is a double bedroom, a twin bedroom and a shower room (with loo and hand basin).

The garden is roomy, sunny and enclosed, with plenty of space for 2 cars to park inside the enclosure and off the lane.

Things to do and places to shop at around this seaside holiday cottage in Wales

Cardigan is 2 ½ miles away and has a good selection of independent shops, an old market hall with market stalls, including a deli. There are a couple of supermarkets either end of the town. Llwynhelyg Farm Shop at Sarnau is a great stop-off for good local food.

Pretty local villages and towns include Newcastle Emlyn, Aberaeron (for great seafood restaurants), and the picturesque little port of Llangrannog for the Ship Inn  restaurant, and a nice beachside cafe.

Llanerchaeron, 10 miles away, is a lovely National Trust property.

Between Cardigan and Lleine Price is situated the Cardigan Island Coastal Farm Park, where you can look over to the nature reserve of Cardigan Island and see nesting sea birds and dolphins. In the park, there are all sorts of animals, from rare breed cattle to emus and wallabies. There is also an outdoor adventure playground, a sand pit, and an indoor games barn for wet weather.

Pricing & Availability

Changeovers are normally Mondays and Fridays (enquire about other days). Weekends are set-priced from Friday 4pm to either Sunday evening or Monday 10.30am; so you can stay 1, 2 or 3 nights for the weekend price. 'We've had a lovely holiday, cottage great and good retreat from rain. Girls all enjoyed Mwnt beach and went there daily whatever the weather. We've seen lots of wildlife, dolphins at Aberporth and New Quay, seals and a sunfish!  Lots of things to do and we haven't had enough time to do them all!!
