Self catering kitchen Dining room with beams and log burner

The ground floor has a lovely spacious kitchen/dining room with an oil-fired Aga and a generous wood burning stove. When you step into the room from the outside porch, you are greeted by the lovely warmth from the Aga. Delightful touches such as the red Kitchen Aid ‘Artisan’ espresso machine/grinder and the kitchen blender make this space a complete joy for the cook, while plenty of old beams and big stone flags reveal the building’s 17th-century origins. There is a downstairs shower room (with power shower, loo and hand basin); and a little snug room with a pretty open fireplace is ideal for reading or watching TV and DVDs (and has a fold-out double futon sofa-bed for extra family members). The sitting-room has a top-of-the-range wood burning stove, a TV, and two comfy sofas and an armchair, where the view through the window is as wonderful in winter as in summer.

Upstairs, there is a master bedroom with a king-size bed, a cosy double bedroom, a bunk-bedroom with full-size bunks, and a sweet bathroom with a claw-footed roll-top bath, candles in sconces, and a view that will keep you in the bath until fingers and toes are wrinkly with soaking.

Snug Bathroom

The enclosed garden has a magical view from the front of the house, as well as plenty of space behind (plus fields around), some vegetable beds for veg and herbs in season, a fantastic climbing-frame-cum-tree house, a swing and a trampoline (with safety net). A table and chairs sits on the lawn in front of the house for enjoying sunny meals, evening drinks and making the most of the far-reaching view and the varied wildlife.
