The peace and serenity of this beautiful part of the world, plus far-reaching views of the mysterious Preseli mountains, is made the most of at this lovely holiday home. A cleverly executed barn-and-carthouse conversion, The Carthouse is now a 5-star, stylishly furnished, and beautifully comfortable place to stay for 2 to 4, plus an infant.
There is a 12% discount for a couple outside the holidays, based on the use of one bedroom only. You can select this option when you book, if you like.
The entrance is cleverly designed as a nice sunny place to sit and enjoy the sunshine in chillier weather, but also connects the two former farm buildings. To the right, as you enter, is a beautiful airy bedroom with its own ensuite shower room and loo. To the left, is the rest of the cottage.
The downstairs living-space is open-plan and wonderfully spacious: lovely furnishings, a top-notch wood burner, and a kitchen space many can only dream of. The living area has big glazed doors, which open out onto the terrace and garden in fine weather, and which close snugly in winter so that the view can still be enjoyed while sitting in front of the wood burner.
Upstairs is a lovely bedroom in the eaves, painted soft cream and warm yellow. The bed is super-king, but can be separate into twins, if required. There is a superb ensuite bathroom, with bath, separate shower, loo and hand basin.
The garden is enclosed and has plenty of dedicated parking. A slate-flagged terrace in front of the big glazed doors has garden furniture, and there is lawn, too, and flower beds, all edged by wooden fencing and a very picturesque dry-stone turf-topped Pembrokeshire field wall. To sit on the terrace and look at the view across the meadows to the Preselis is very relaxing indeed.
