This three-bedroomed self-catering holiday cottage in the Brecon Beacons was once, as its name suggests, the shelter for the Moor Park carriages. Now a family holiday house, with every possible comfort - from a top-of-the-range coffee machine to an IPOD docking-station and a tuned baby grand piano, The Coach House has fabulous views over the gardens, as well as the Black Mountains behind. Use of a new tennis court is included in the price (plus use of a year-round-heated indoor swimming pool for a voluntary donation); and visitors are invited to wander freely around the grounds, fields and woodland. There is an amazing walled vegetable and fruit garden, where visitors can pick their own organic produce, and where the resident peacock often struts his stuff along the top of the stone wall. A black swan (the emblem of Moor Park), accompanied by ducks and moorhens, occupies the peaceful water gardens at the opposite end. This is great riding country, and stabling/grazing is available for visitors' own ponies or horses. Wonderful rides from Moor Park and up onto the hills provide an immense sense of freedom and space.
