On the edge of a quiet hamlet, just a few miles from Abergavenny, Walnut Tree Cottage is ideally situated for enjoying all that the Black Mountains and the National Park have to offer. Great walks - whether riverside or hilltop, lovely pubs and restaurants, Norman castles, pretty churches, important abbeys, and quantities of outdoor activities, are all nearby. The fascinating town of Hay-on-Wye with its second-hand bookshops and antique emporia is 18 miles, Hereford with its cathedral and the famous Mappa Mundi is 20 miles, and Abergavenny with its farmers' markets (both livestock and produce), and now-famous annual food festival, is the place to stock up on necessities. The local pub is a walkable ½ mile away (15 minutes cross country) and serves good food and well-chosen wine and real ales. One of the owners, a keen cyclist himself, can advise on good local bike rides of all levels, so do bring bikes with you. There is plenty of storage space.
