A special place to stay
As
seasoned holiday cottage visitors ourselves, we know how important it
is to visit somewhere that is not only very special, but also clean,
comfortable and well-equipped. All the necessities, as well as some
luxuries, are included in the price. We know only too well how
depressing it can be to arrive somewhere late at night to find that not
even soap or washing-up liquid have been supplied. Our cottages all
have something special about them, whether it is the wealth of beams,
an original 17th-century wooden screen, or a superb view - as well as
their beautiful unspoiled locations.
Blaentrothy Holiday Cottage has been lovingly restored both with traditional materials and green concerns in mind. Blaentrothy Farm, where Blaentrothy Cottage is situated, has been listed as a very special group of farm buildings
because they are completely unspoiled. Arriving at the farm is a bit
like travelling back in time to the 17th-century. The 100 acres of
farmland have been designated as a Site of Special Scientific Interest
because the ancient meadows, which can be explored by public footpath,
have never been ploughed or treated with modern fertilizers or weed
killers. These provide a fascinating slice of living history: you can
see exactly how a meadow would have looked at the time the farm was
first built.
Luxury self-catering -
Blaentrothy Cottage is situated in the middle of sheep farming country
in what is a protected SSSI - 'Site of Special Scientific Interest'. The landscape is completely idyllic, and because it is an organic farm
(and always has been), wild flower meadows, streams, copses and
hedgerows are rich in wild fauna and flora. Beautiful views of the
surrounding Welsh countryside, and nearby, the Black Mountains
stretching out for miles, make this the perfect Welsh romantic
hideaway.
A perfect vacation in Wales
Wales

accommodation is comfortable and luxurious while retaining all the
charm of the old farm building. All the fixtures and fittings are new,
so that modern convenience is combined with the beauty of ancient oak
beams, mullion windows and old red sandstone to create a wonderful
fusion of old and new - a unique, luxury holiday accommodation.
This
